FAQ
Who is this website for?
End Self-Harm is for anyone navigating self-harming behaviors. Whether you’re a teen, young adult, parent, provider, or someone in recovery. You don’t need to have a diagnosis or “hit rock bottom” to seek support here.
Is this a crisis site?
No. While we provide resources and support, we are not a crisis line. If you are in immediate danger, contact a 24/7 helpline like the (888) 724-7240. We list warm, safe alternatives that don’t default to hospitalization unless truly necessary.
What does “self-harming behaviors” mean?
We use this term broadly to include non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), disordered eating, substance use, risky behaviors, and other coping strategies that may cause harm. We meet these topics with compassion, safety, and no judgment.
What kind of resources do you list?
We highlight vetted therapists, support groups, tattoo artists for scar cover-ups, and laser scar removal services that are safe, compassionate, trauma-informed, and ethically aligned with our values.
How do you choose who gets listed?
Every provider or group is carefully reviewed to ensure they align with our mission. They must offer care that is inclusive, non-shaming, and non-coercive. Many accept insurance or sliding scale.
Can I suggest a resource to be listed?
Yes! If you know a provider or resource that supports healing in a compassionate way, feel free to reach out or submit it through the form on our site so we can review it.
What age is your content appropriate for and is your social media safe for teens?
Our content is created with sensitivity for teens (13+), young adults, and supportive adults. We aim to make all of our content — on this site and our social media — supportive, non-triggering, and emotionally safe.
Our blog, resources, and Instagram are designed with clarity in mind, using gentle visuals and language. While we don’t post graphic content, we do discuss tough topics like self-harm, trauma, and recovery with care.
Parents or caregivers are encouraged to explore our content too. We want to help bridge those conversations in ways that feel safe and validating.
Do you track or store personal information?
No. We respect your privacy. Unless you choose to sign up for our newsletter or submit a resource form, we don’t collect personal data. Everything on the site can be viewed anonymously and safely.
Can I share this site with a loved one?
Yes, absolutely. We’ve included a “Send to a Friend” section with gentle language to help start those tough conversations. Our goal is to create a bridge between silence and support.
